(I quite like this last shot; colour accented the yellows and browns.)

My Holga GCFN finally arrived! Along with this package is another package from PerlyInc containing my 35mm adaptor, 2 rolls of Fuji160s film, and my Holga release cable.
I’m so excited. I want to stick crystals on my Holga.
And I’m definitely going for a walkabout tomorrow! So it better not rain!

And I’m trying to decide between the Gorillapod and the Tripod Stability Pack, both from Lomography.com.
Price-wise, the stability pack is very value-for-money; I get 4 pods and 1 cable release for USD35, and the large gorillapod for Holgas and SLRs cost USD40. But the gorillapod seems very versatile and portable; I would only need to bring one item whereas for the pack I might wind up needing to bring 2-3 of the pods along with me (unless I know specifically what I’d need in that particular setting). Both are terribly short though; I cannot use them to take full-length shots of people unless I’m able to anchor them to a lamp-post or a table.
Or would it be more worthwhile for me to invest in a professional tripod?
I guess it really depends on my purpose, right?
I already have a mini-tripod from Canon when I bought my Powershot, so that’s good for macro shots or on-table shots.
So I guess I’d KIV those 2 pods until I start playing with my Holga (which isn’t here yet because my spree organizer is slow!).
Photography is an expensive hobby, I tell ya. But it runs in my blood so strong I feel I’d be doing myself and my genes injustice by brushing such talents off. ![]()

Well, possibly not vintage, but both of them are older than I am!
1. The Nikon FG. Produced in 1982

Alas, I killed the camera the other day due to my rough handling. I was trying clean the insides when I accidentally cracked the mirror! So if I take pictures with it, there will be harsh crack lines all over my image.
2. The Nikon FE. Produced from 1978 - 1983

(As you can see from the two pictures, I couldn’t decide if I want to use macro mode or not)
I really love this Nikon FE! But one of the spring mechanism is spoilt; I should try a way to fix it. The Nikon FE is reputed one of the best film SLR ever produced by Nikon, and I’m so lucky I inherited this. (Or rather, no one else in the house wanted this piece of “junk” left behind by a man who has already passed on.)
These two cameras come with the full works - coloured filters, mosaic filters, interchangeable lenses, a tripod (heavy piece of shit though), hotshoe flash, some things I don’t even know the name for … the only problem - these things have been kept in a normal box for close to twenty years, and the lenses are all filled with fungi(?). I’d have to get them professionally cleaned if I ever intend on using them. But you have to admit, these are pretty snazzy. For an amateur photographer like me. And if I include these 2 pieces, and my Holga that’s on the way, I have 5 cameras to play around with. I figured I might want to save up for a Diana+ because I love the blue bits!

I think the order for my Holga is coming tomorrow or Friday! I’m so excited!
I took part in a supplier spree via Livejournal and ordered a black GCFN Holga 120. I’m very excited about modifying and beautifying my camera! I think my sister has some leftover fake fur somewhere; perhaps I will stick some onto my camera.
And I’ve submitted an order to PerlyInc. for a release cable (so I can take portrait shots of myself :D), a 35-mm mount so that I can use cheaper 35mm film rather than the more expensive medium format ones, and for some 120 medium format film to christen my new camera with.
I hope I’ll be free this weekend to go take some shots! (But my school work is piling up!)
